About

I am Kelsey Brennan and I currently a lead a small design team at Planet. I love implementing processes to get cross-functional teams working together — happily! I like big, unsolvable problems. I like seeing teams succeed, especially as they negotiate tricky situations.

Please contact me for a portfolio password if you'd like to learn more about projects you aren’t able to access.

As for me, I’m interested in broad-ranging topics such as transportation, fabrication, construction, sustainable energy, ethical applications of new technology, AI, machine learning and other hard problems that require a set of teeth to sink into. Outside of work I like to get outside, ride horses, dive, surf and explore personal interests outside of design.

I hold a Masters in Architecture from UC Berkeley with a DE in New Media; some time before that I went to Reed College. Prior to grad school I was involved in marketing and product development for several San Francisco startups, including one of the first apps to launch on the Google Hangouts API. My design research has been presented at ACADIA (Association for Computer-Aided Design in Architecture), SPUR, Maker Fayre and has been published in Paradigms in Computing: Making, Machines, and Models for Design Agency in Architecture. If you're curious about my design research, art or graduate work, I have another site for that. I also sit on the board for Tech by Choice, a community aimed to increase diversity and inclusion in the tech industry.
